Call for Literature Session Presenters
2008 NCCO Conference,
University of Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music
October 30 - November 1st, 2008
NCCO members are encouraged to apply to present choral literature sessions that explore specific topics of interest, (e.g. historical periods, languages, topics, countries of origin, composers, poets, etc.). Sessions will be 60 minutes in length and will include approximately five to seven choral works. The session should be more than a cursory reading, and can include personal commentary, historical perspective, analysis, and rehearsal where deemed desirable or necessary.
How to apply: Download, complete, and mail the application form by February 1, 2008. On the form list five to seven choral works (including the title, composer, and edition/publisher) with a brief description of how the works are related to the topic. The conference will feature literature sessions that strive to include choral works appropriate for college (two- and four-year) and university choirs of varying sizes, voicing, and levels of ability. NCCO will be responsible for providing the literature packets and an accompanist.
