Robin A. Leaver,
Visiting Honorary professor at Queen's College Belfast,
and Visiting Professor at Yale University and at the Juilliard School,
earned his Theol.Dip. from Trinity College, Bristol, England, and his
D.theol. cum laude from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the
Netherlands. Dr. Leaver served as President of the American Bach
Society (2000–2004); served on the board of directors for the
Charles Wesley Society (1989–1999); and is a Member of Scholarly
Advisory Committee for the Kessler Reformation Collection, Pitts
Theology Library, Emory University (1995– ). He is the author of
more than 25 books, including Bachs theologische Bibliothek
(1983) and J.S. Bach and Scripture (1985), and contributed to
many reference and other books, including The New Grove
Dictionary of Music and Musicians (1980, and the second edition,
2001), The New Grove Dictionary of American Music (1986),
and the 4th edition of The Harvard Dictionary of Music (2003).
