Dr. Shrock's scholarly credits include authorship of a comprehensive study of the Western choral canon entitled Choral Repertoire (Oxford University Press 2009), chapters in festschrifts honoring Howard Swan (Pendragon Press 1989) and Roger Wagner (Thomas House 1993), and a series of interviews with notable twentieth-century conductors (Choral Journal 1990–1992). Two new books will be published by GIA in 2011: Music for Choral Conducting Classes, which is an anthology of music for use in undergraduate college and university choral conducting classes and in graduate choral conducting pedagogy and music education classes, and Performance Practices in the Classical Era, which is a compilation of primary sources that address such topics as pitch, vibrato, tempo, articulation, and ornamentation. Future writing projects include an anthology of music entitled Choral Scores, which will be a companion book to Choral Repertoire, and a history of choral singing in the United States entitled America's Choral Heritage.
